Just some general questions about going to Fiji
Including activities, specific needs, packing, and some general info about Fiji

I am not a diver, can I still go?
Yes!
We welcome non-divers!
There is plenty of activities to do if you’re not diving.
If you’re not diving, please subtract $500 from the price.
I want to learn how to dive so I can while I’m there – how do I do that?
They have a full service dive shop onsite with instructors.
If you are already certified and want to add Nitrox or another certification level while there, that is also possible.
While you can arrange that at arrival, it is best to give them at least a 30 day warning for these services (to make sure they have enough staff).
However, we recommend you complete all certifications before you go so you can enjoy your trip. Most likely, if you are going to do any certifications, it will not be with rest of our group. It maybe an open class setting with other resort guests, or private lessons.
If you’re interested in additional certifications, there or before, please let us know.
Any certifications or lessons are not included in the price of the packaged trip.
What’s the weather going to be like that time of year?
End of May, beginning of June is one of the best times to go to Fiji!
May is the end of Summer and June is the beginning of their “winter.” While there maybe some rain, it should be mostly dry and sunny.
Temps should be between 65 at night and 80 during the day (average).
Expect it to be windy though. That could be from a slight breeze to steady wind averaging 10-15 MPH.
So be sure to bring a sweater / light rain jacket for the nighttime.
What’s the water temperature in Fiji?
The water will be warm! Averaging 80-85 degrees in May and June.
Be sure to choose the proper exposure attire for your comfort level. And if you’re not sure, just let us know and we can recommend something for you.

What are the rooms like?
We have 2 different room types available Beach Front and Koi / Garden Bures. All rooms are Fijian style private villas and are air conditioned, and have private ensuite bathrooms. Each room has 2 beds (kings and/or doubles), a lounge area, and a patio area. All rooms are Wi-Fi enabled (Wi-Fi is extra), a safe, and a tea/coffee maker set up.
None of the rooms have refrigerators or microwaves at this time.
Beach Front Bures also have a private patio with a hammock and / or subbed, private plunge pool, and either over look the adjacent beach, or out towards the ocean.
Koi / Garden Bures each have their own private entertainment patio and entrances. Koi rooms are over a Koi pond, and Garden rooms are located in the resort’s garden area. Assignment of which type are based on resort’s availability.
I have special dietary needs – can that be accommodated?
Yes!
Just let us know at least 90 days (February 1, 2027) in advance so we can pass that information along to the resort.
How many people can we fit in a room?
Each room will accommodate 3 adults comfortably. If you are traveling with children, 2 adults and 2 children, can also be in one room.
Can kids come?
The resort is child friendly for children 4 years old and above.
Due to the remote nature of the location, while there are family activities and children programs available at the resort, for children under 4 years old, it is recommended you bring all needs and supplies for your visit, as well as plan to have an adult with the child at all times.
There is no price discount for children.
How long is the flight?
Direct flights from DFW will be about 14 hours. If we have to route through LAX, the long haul flight will be about 10 hours.
Be sure to dress comfy and warm for the plane, and bring anything you need to freshen up or overnight medications. Tessa is a big fan of compression socks too!
What can I NOT bring?
Your puppy. 🙁
Seriously, very sorry, but no pets, and service animals are highly unlikely. If you need to bring a service animal, let us know so we can get in touch with the resort to see if they can accommodate them, and what the process and policy for traveling with your animal for the airlines and immigration maybe.
Also – most sunscreens and tanning lotions are HIGHLY DISCOURAGED (if even allowed) to protect the eco system. So be sure to get some reef safe sunblock.
Other than that, the usual no-fly list of items, and be sure to check to see if there are any restrictions or special instructions for any medication that you may be bringing.
There is no need to bring tanks and weights.

And maybe a sweater for the night time or the plane.
Other than that, casual, cool, and comfy are the rules for the island. And don’t forget your favorite sun protection! But, do make sure to get REEF SAFE SUNSCREEN, as most others are not allowed.
Additionally, the resort is located on a REMOTE island. Which means, there’s no Walmart to run to when you realized you forgot something. Make a list, check it twice, and be sure to bring everything you will need – especially items like medications, specialty makeups or lotions, and favorite toiletries.
Basic toiletries – shampoo, conditioner, and body wash – along with towels are provided by the resort.
Ladies – feminine products are VERY different there, and expensive. They may not have what you need, so be sure to pack those items.
