Questions about Diving in Fiji

I am not a diver, can I still go?
Yes!
We welcome non-divers!
There is plenty of activities to do if you’re not diving.
If you’re not diving, please subtract $500 from the price.
I want to learn how to dive so I can while I’m there – how do I do that?
They have a full service dive shop onsite with instructors.
If you are already certified and want to add Nitrox or another certification level while there, that is also possible.
While you can arrange that at arrival, it is best to give them at least a 30 day warning for these services (to make sure they have enough staff).
However, we recommend you complete all certifications before you go so you can enjoy your trip. Most likely, if you are going to do any certifications, it will not be with rest of our group. It maybe an open class setting with other resort guests, or private lessons.
If you’re interested in additional certifications, there or before, please let us know.
Any certifications or lessons are not included in the price of the packaged trip.
What certifications and dives do I HAVE to have for this trip?
The resort has diving for all experience levels!
You just need to be a certified open water diver with a logged dive within 6 months (after December 27th, 2026) of departure.
Certification cards and logs will be checked.
I haven’t dove in a while – do I need or can I get a refresher?
Yes! We recommend you have a refresher if it’s been 6 months or more between dives. The dive shop onsite will also require a logged dive within the last 6 months of arrival.
Of course we can schedule a refresher with you before we leave (please give us plenty of notice), or we can find a shop or instructor local to you for one.
Cost will vary by instructor, locations, and any equipment needed.
What are “logged” dives?
“Logged” dives are dives you have completed in the past and recorded the details of in a log. That could be a commercial log book, an app, your computer, or another program / system of your choice. Additionally, dives where you received instruction, gained new skills, or did something particularly note worthy should be signed by a witness or instructor. Basically, a log of a dive is verifiable proof of a dive.
We recommend you log EVERY DIVE. But, if you don’t, that’s your personal choice.
However, the resort will require logged dives within the last 6 months, and they will check. If you do not have one, they will require you to do a “refresher” course for an additional costs onsite. It may also interfere with scheduled dives, so you miss some of them with the group. Group / schedule dives cannot be made up.
If you do need a refresher, please let us know, we can do that before we leave.
If you need help building your divers log from past dives, please let us know as well.
The resort does not require any particular number, type, or depth of dives, as they will have plenty of diving for every level.
Can I get additional certifications while I am there?

Do I need, and how do I get Dive Accident Insurance?
Dive accident Insurance is REQUIRED for everyone going who wants to SCUBA dive.
It must be valid from at least April 1, 2027 through July 30, 2027.
We recommend Diver’s Alter Network (DAN) – Dan.org
What’s the water temperature in Fiji?
The water will be warm! Averaging 80-85 degrees in May and June.
Be sure to choose the proper exposure attire for your comfort level. And if you’re not sure, just let us know and we can recommend something for you.

Can we bring and use our own gear?
Yes!
You can bring as much of your personal gear that you would like to use while diving in Fiji.
Just remember, there maybe extra bag fees and restrictions for the airline.
Can we rent gear? What are the prices for rentals?
Yes!
There is a full dive shop onsite.
While we can’t guarantee prices for 2027, here is a list of there current (January 2025) prices for rental gear.

How many dives are included? And can we add more dives?
Each full day we are at the resort, we have a 2 tank boat dive scheduled. In total, that should be 10 dives scheduled, weather permitting of course.
There is also ample opportunity to shore dive (included), or arrange for more boat dives throughout the day / week at an additional cost.
The more people who want to join additional boat dives, the cheaper they will be.
All additional boat dives can be arranged onsite, or we can arrange for them in advance, about 60 days before we leave.
Are there any night dives?
We do not have night dives scheduled with this package.
However, you can choose to add one during your trip.
We can add this for you before we go, or you can arrange it onsite while there.
While it will be an extra fee, it maybe more cost effective to see if anyone else in our group would also be interested, and therefore can split the cost of the dive. Let us know if you’re interested in this option.
If I miss a boat dive, or schedule group dive, can I make it up, or be refunded the cost of the dive?
No.
If you do not, or are not able to, participate in any planned boat / group dive that is scheduled with our package, you cannot “make it up” later in the day / week, or with another group.
There will be no refunds issued for missing any of those dives.
If you schedule extra group or boat dives while there, those maybe subject to a refund or credit based on the local dive shop or resort’s policies.
Do they have Nitrox? Do I have to have a Nitrox certification before I go?
Yes!!
Unfortunately, however, Nitrox is not included in the price.
We cannot guarantee prices for 2027, but currently it is $110 USD for Nitrox for the week.
That upgrade is to be paid directly to the dive shop onsite at arrival.
You must be Nitrox certified, if you are not, then you can get certified before we leave or at the resort for an additional costs. Just let us know which works best for you or if you have any questions about the process.
